Fair use

Fair use and platform limits, in plain words

Post as much as your business needs. Watchpost has no limit on posts. Fair use is only there to stop spam and abuse that could get Watchpost blocked by Instagram, TikTok or YouTube for every customer.

  • No limit on posts
  • A person always reviews
  • Notice and a reason, every time

Last updated 5 October 2026 · Platform limits checked 5 October 2026

Summary

The short version

Four things to know, and the extra limits that apply right now. The rest of this page explains each one, with examples.

  • Posts are unlimited

There is one Watchpost plan. It has no post quota and no "posts left" counter, and the price doesn't change with how much you post. The one exception will be X: once it is switched on, X's own per-post charges are added to your bill.

  • Fair use only stops spam and abuse

Its only job is to stop spam and abuse that could get Watchpost blocked by Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or another platform for every customer. Normal business posting is always fine.

  • A person always reviews

Our checks only count things, such as how many posts go out and whether they are identical. If a number looks unusual, a person on our team takes a look. Nothing is restricted automatically.

  • You always get notice

Before anything changes, we email you the reason and what would help, and a notice appears at the top of the app. The only exception is serious abuse, when we may act first and tell you as soon as we can. You can always appeal.

Right now, while the platforms check Watchpost

Each platform checks new apps like Watchpost before giving them full access. Until each one approves us, these extra limits apply:

  • YouTube: Every video uploads as private, whatever you choose.

  • TikTok: Posts go out as "Only me", so only you can see them.

  • TikTok: Your TikTok account must be set to private.

  • TikTok: Only 5 TikTok accounts across all Watchpost customers can post in any 24 hours.

  • Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Google Business Profile: These open to every business once Meta and Google approve Watchpost.

We update this page as each approval comes through. How limits will grow

What your plan includes

Your workspace is your business's space in Watchpost: its connected accounts, its team and its posts. Each workspace has its own plan.

Connected accounts
10 in total, any mix of platforms
Team members
5 per workspace
Media storage
5 GB
Posts
No limit. Fair use applies.

Each platform also sets a few daily limits of its own. When one is reached, your post waits and goes out automatically, and the calendar shows when. See each platform's limits

Why

Why fair use exists

Your posts travel through apps that every customer shares. Fair use keeps those apps in good standing.

When you connect your accounts, your posts don't go straight from you to Instagram or TikTok. They travel through Watchpost's own app on each platform.

There is one app on Meta (for Facebook, Instagram and Threads), one on TikTok, one on Google (for YouTube and Business Profile) and, later, one on X. Every Watchpost customer shares them.

The platforms watch each app closely. If spam comes through it, they can slow the app down, limit it or switch it off. That would stop posting for every customer at once, including businesses that did nothing wrong.

Fair use protects that shared connection, so your posts keep going out.

Every customer

  • Your café
  • An agency
  • A shop
  • A creator

Watchpost's shared apps

  • Meta app
  • TikTok app
  • Google app
  • X appComing later
How your posts reach the platforms: every customer's posts go through the same Watchpost app on each platform.

Think of a shared lift

Everyone in an office building can use the lift as often as they need. But if one tenant keeps jamming the doors, the building manager may shut the lift for everybody. Fair use keeps the lift running.

Examples

What's fine, and what's not

Normal business posting is always fine, however busy you are. You don't need to ask us first.

Always fine

  • Fine: Posting several times a day on every account

A kopitiam posts breakfast, lunch and tea-time specials to its 5 accounts every day. That's 15 posts a day, about 450 a month.

  • Fine: An agency scheduling for many clients

An agency plans a month for 10 client accounts, 2 posts a day each. That's 600 posts, scheduled in one afternoon.

  • Fine: A month of posts at once

Schedule a month, or a whole year, in one sitting. There is no limit on how far ahead you plan.

  • Fine: The same post on each platform

One photo and caption to your Facebook Page, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and Google listing. One account per platform is exactly what Watchpost is for.

  • Fine: Festive and sale bursts

10 posts a day for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Christmas or an 11.11 sale. Just keep the platforms' own daily limits in mind.

  • Fine: Your own branches

A weekly promotion to the Google listings of your 8 branches. Change a detail for each one, like the address or opening hours, and let them go out a few minutes apart.

Not allowed

  • Not allowed: Spam

Posts that are misleading or unwanted, or the same thing repeated over and over just to get attention.

  • Not allowed: Blasting one post to many accounts at once

For example, one advert sent to 10 Instagram accounts within minutes, again and again. To the platform this looks like a network of fake accounts.

  • Not allowed: Automated mass posting

Bots that post without a person deciding, or that copy other websites. Your own repeats and slots are fine; just vary the wording if it would go out 3+ times on one account in 7 days.

  • Not allowed: Buying followers or engagement

Buying or selling likes, follows or views, engagement pods, follow-for-follow schemes, or "comment YES to win" posts run at volume.

  • Not allowed: Breaking a platform's rules

Scams, banned products, fake accounts, hate or harassment, or reposting videos, photos or music you don't have the rights to.

  • Not allowed: Getting around limits

Splitting one business across workspaces, or reconnecting accounts, to dodge a limit. A separate workspace per client or brand is fine. Need more? Ask us.

The full list of what isn't allowed is in our Acceptable Use Policy. Read the Acceptable Use Policy

Review points

What we look at, and when a person takes a look

Our checks count the things below. When a number passes one of these points, a person on our team takes a look.

These are review points, not limits

Passing one does not block, slow or charge anything. It only means a person checks that everything is normal.

How much is posted

  • 200 posts

from one workspace in 24 hours

That's 20 posts a day on each of 10 accounts.

  • 40 posts

on one account in 24 hours

That's one post every 36 minutes, around the clock.

  • 3,000 posts

from one workspace in 30 days

About 100 posts a day, every day, for a month.

  • 200 posts

created by one person within 10 minutes

That's faster than anyone writes, so a person checks that someone is deciding what goes out.

The same post, again and again

  • 4 or more accounts

on one platform getting the same post within 60 minutes

One account on each of several platforms never counts. That's normal use.

  • The same text 3 times

on one account within 7 days

For example, a repeat post set to go out every day, or every few days, with identical wording. Change the wording each time. A weekly repeat stays under this point.

  • 2 or more X accounts

getting the same text within 24 hours, once X is switched on

X's own rules don't allow the same post on more than one account.

What the platforms tell us

  • 3 spam warnings

from the platforms, added together, in 24 hours

When platforms reject posts as spam or as duplicates.

  • Any account

blocked from posting by a platform

For example, when Instagram or TikTok blocks one of your accounts for a while. A person looks at this one first.

  • 25% of posts

failing for good over 7 days, once there have been at least 40 publishing attempts

Usually an account that needs reconnecting. Fixing what the failed posts say clears it.

  • 30% of a shared limit

used by one workspace on 2 days within a week

For example, 30 of YouTube's 100 shared daily uploads, or 2 of the 5 shared TikTok accounts while TikTok's approval is pending.

  • What a review means

A person checks the numbers and looks for a normal reason, like a festive campaign, a chain of branches or an agency adding clients. If all is well, that's the end of it and nothing changes for you.

  • Our checks don't read your posts

They count posts, compare whether posts are identical and note what the platforms reply. A person looks at a post only when something is flagged, and every look is logged.

  • Planning something big?

Tell us before a big campaign and we can raise the review points for your workspace, so it isn't flagged at all.

Step by step

What happens if there's a problem

We go one step at a time. At every step we email the workspace owner and admins what we saw, why it matters and what would help, and a notice at the top of the app says the same.

The steps

  1. Step 1: Heads-up

    Nothing changes

We email the workspace owner and admins. The email says what we noticed, with numbers, and what would help.

Nothing is restricted. If it's a one-off campaign, or we got it wrong, just reply.

  2. Step 2: Slow-down

    Temporary, at most 14 days

Only if the problem carries on. Your posts still go out, just spaced further apart.

We tell you the exact pace and the end date. For example: no more than 10 posts an hour, at least 15 minutes apart on each account, for 7 days.

Fix the cause, reply to us, and we can lift it sooner.

  3. Step 3: Pause

Only for serious or repeated problems

Publishing stops, but nothing is deleted. You can still write and schedule posts, see analytics and export your data.

Posts that fall due during the pause wait. When publishing comes back, posts up to 24 hours overdue go out, and older ones are marked Held instead, so nothing goes out days late without your say.

We tell you exactly what needs to change to get publishing back.

  4. Back to normal

When it's sorted, we tell you, and everything works as before.

Serious abuse can skip steps

For serious or repeated abuse we may act straight away. For example: scams, malware, child abuse material, trading in likes, followers or accounts, conduct that has made a platform restrict our app, or when a platform or the law tells us to act. We may pause publishing at once and, in the most serious cases, close the account under our Terms. We still tell you what we did and why, as soon as we can.

How to appeal

Think we got it wrong? Reply to our email, or write to [email protected] with the subject "Appeal" and the reference number from our email, within 30 days.

Where we can, someone who didn't make the first decision reviews it. We aim to answer in writing within 14 days.

Email an appeal

What each step means for you

Our emails and the notice at the top of the app always name the step they're about. This is what each one means, and what to do.

  • Heads-up

    What it means
We noticed a posting pattern and explained it. Nothing is restricted.
    What to do
Read "What would help", change it if you can, or reply to us.
  • Slowed down

    What it means
Posts go out at the pace in our email, until the date in our email. Nothing is cancelled.
    What to do
Follow "To lift it sooner", then reply to our email. You can appeal within 30 days.
  • Paused

    What it means
Posts are held, not deleted. You can still plan, see analytics and export your data.
    What to do
Follow "To restore publishing". You can appeal within 30 days.
  • Back to normal

    What it means
The slow-down or pause has ended. Publishing works as before.
    What to do
Reschedule any posts marked Held that you still want.

A step can apply to one account instead of the whole workspace. Then our email and the notice name the account. In the app, a post held by a pause is marked Held, and one slowed down is marked Waiting with the time it will go out.

Platform rules

Each platform's own limits

These limits come from the platforms, not from us. They apply to every scheduling tool, and only the platform can change them.

Checked on the platforms' developer pages on 5 October 2026. When a platform changes a limit, we update this page.

  • "In any 24 hours" means a rolling 24 hours. A slot opens again 24 hours after an earlier post went out.
  • Each platform also checks new apps like Watchpost before giving them full access. Until it approves us, some extra limits apply, and each card says which.
  • See your own numbers in the app: open Channels, choose an account, and look at Platform limits.
  • YouTube

    Applies to
    Shared by all customers
    Resets
    Daily, at midnight Pacific Time
    • Google gives Watchpost one daily upload allowance, shared by all customers. Google's standard starting allowance is about 100 uploads a day, and it can go up once Google approves more.
    • If it runs out, extra uploads wait and go out automatically after the reset.
    • The reset is midnight Pacific Time: 3:00 pm Malaysia time (MYT) from mid-March to early November, and 4:00 pm MYT the rest of the year.
    • Until Google approves Watchpost, YouTube makes every upload private, whatever you choose.

Good to know: Because every customer shares the allowance, schedule important videos a day or two ahead.

In the app: The channel's Platform limits panel shows the shared allowance as Plenty left, Getting busy or Used up, with the reset time.

  • TikTok

    Applies to
Each account, plus a limit shared by all customers
    Resets
    Rolling 24 hours
    • Each account can post about 15 times a day through apps, counted across every app you use. TikTok says the exact number varies by account.
    • Until TikTok approves Watchpost, posts go out as private ("Only me").
    • Until then, your TikTok account must also be set to private.
    • Until then, only 5 TikTok accounts across all customers can post in any 24 hours. After approval, TikTok sets a higher limit, still shared by all customers.

Good to know: When you write a TikTok post, the app warns you while these limits apply.

In the app: The account's Platform limits panel counts your TikTok posts in the last 24 hours and says whether TikTok's approval is still pending.

  • Instagram

    Applies to
    Each account
    Resets
    Rolling 24 hours
    • Each account can publish about 50 to 100 posts in any 24 hours. A carousel counts as one post. Meta's own pages mention both numbers.
    • It counts posts from every app you use, not just Watchpost.

Good to know: Posts from your phone and other apps use the same allowance, so leave some room on big days.

In the app: The account's Platform limits panel shows the count Instagram reports and when the next slot opens.

  • Facebook

    Applies to
    Each Page
    Resets
    Rolling 24 hours
    • No fixed daily number for normal Page posts. Facebook does slow down Pages that post extremely fast.
    • Reels: up to 30 per Page in any 24 hours.

Good to know: Dozens of posts within minutes can trigger Facebook's spam checks, so space them out.

In the app: The Page's Platform limits panel counts your Reels in the last 24 hours.

  • Threads

    Applies to
    Each profile
    Resets
    Rolling 24 hours
    • Each profile can publish up to 250 posts and 1,000 replies in any 24 hours.

Good to know: Replies have their own allowance, so a busy conversation doesn't use up your posts.

In the app: The profile's Platform limits panel shows the posts and replies Threads reports for the last 24 hours.

  • Google Business Profile

    Applies to
    Shared by all customers
    Resets
    Every minute
    • Google publishes no daily post limit per listing.
    • It does limit how fast Watchpost as a whole can send posts, so on busy days posts may go out a few minutes apart.

Good to know: Posting the same offer to several branches? Change a detail for each listing, like the address or opening hours.

  • X (Twitter)

    Coming later
    Applies to
    Switched off for now
    Resets
Set by X once it is switched on
    • X is built but switched off for now.
    • X charges for every post an app sends. When we switch X on, those per-post charges will be billed to you: we'll tell you the rate before it starts and show the cost before you schedule.
    • X also limits how often each account can post, and posting the same text on more than one X account is against X's rules.

Good to know: You can't connect an X account while X is switched off.

Waiting posts

When a platform limit is reached

Your post isn't lost, and you don't need to do anything. This is what happens.

  1. The post waits

The post stays in its original slot on the calendar and shows the time it will now go out.

  2. It goes out automatically

As soon as the platform allows it. Waiting posts go out in the order they were scheduled.

  3. It says why

On the calendar and on the post, it's marked Waiting (or Held while publishing is paused), with the limit it's waiting for and when it will go out. You also get a notification, and an email the first time each limit holds a post back that day, not one per post.

  4. A safety net

If a post still can't go out after 72 hours, we stop and mark it Failed with the reason, so you can pick a new time. Nothing goes out days late without you knowing.

Tips for big campaigns

  • Spread big bursts across the day instead of putting everything at 9:00 am.
  • Before a festive campaign, check each platform's daily limit above against your plan.
  • Before a big day on Instagram, Threads or TikTok, count the posts already going out to each account in the 24 hours around it, including posts from other apps.
Looking ahead

How limits will grow

Most shared limits are where they are because Watchpost is new. They go up as the platforms approve us.

  • YouTube: Google's approval

Once Google approves Watchpost, uploads are no longer made private, and the shared daily allowance can go up.

  • TikTok: TikTok's approval

Once TikTok approves Watchpost, posts can be public, your account no longer needs to be private, and the limit of 5 accounts a day is replaced by a higher shared limit that TikTok sets when it approves us.

  • Google Business Profile: Google's approval

Google approves each app before it can post to Business Profiles, so posting to Google listings opens to every customer once Google approves Watchpost.

  • Facebook, Instagram and Threads: Meta's approval

Meta verifies the business behind Watchpost and approves the app before every business can connect through it. After that, Meta's limits on our app grow automatically as more customers use it.

We watch usage every day and apply for more before we reach a limit, not after. When a limit changes, we update this page.

Need more for your workspace?

Email [email protected] and include:

  • your workspace name;
  • the accounts and platforms;
  • what you plan, for example "40 posts a day on 3 Instagram accounts from 9 to 12 November";
  • the dates.

We can:

  • raise the review points for your workspace, so a campaign isn't flagged;
  • help you plan around the platforms' limits;
  • talk through options if you need more than 10 accounts or 5 team members, such as a second workspace with its own plan.

We can't change a platform's own per-account limits, like Instagram's posts per day or TikTok's 15 or so a day. Only the platform can, and the same limit applies in every app.

Recap

In short

The whole page in six lines.

  • Posts are unlimited on the one plan.
  • Fair use only stops spam and abuse that could get Watchpost blocked by the platforms for every customer.
  • A person reviews before anything happens, and you always get notice and a reason.
  • The steps are a heads-up, then a temporary slow-down, then a pause only as a last resort. You can always appeal.
  • Platforms set their own daily limits. When one is reached, your post waits and goes out automatically.
  • Until each platform approves Watchpost, extra limits apply, such as private YouTube uploads and "Only me" TikTok posts.
